IPSWICH HAVEN MARINA EXPANDS TO MEET CUSTOMER DEMAND Ipswich Haven Marina - owned by Associated British Ports, and located in the Port of Ipswich’s Wet Dock - has completed its latest expansion project with the addition of 20 new berths. Following an investment of over £200,000, work was completed on the award-winning marina in March, and has taken the total number of berths to 270. It is anticipated that the increased mooring space, together with the marina’s well-appointed shoreside facilities, will attract more visitors to Ipswich and benefit local trade in the process. Commenting on the plans, Alastair MacFarlane, ABP Port Manager, East Anglia, said: “Ipswich Haven Marina is a first-class facility and, in order to maintain its prestigious reputation, we had to provide additional berths for the ever-increasing number of visitors we receive. This expansion is excellent news both for the port, and for Ipswich.” Ipswich Haven Marina provides permanent berths, as well as berths for visitors. It is also the base for a number of other marine services, including the yacht-brokers and chandlers, Burton Waters. The marina holds the Yacht Harbour Association’s Five Gold Anchor rating – the highest possible accolade for a marina. 1st April 2008
