Specialised Services & Facilities

Newport has over 8 ha of open storage available for the development of port- or energy-related facilities. Specialist Heavy Engineers Ltd operates a dry dock facility. Total logistics packages are available to customers and ‘pick-and-mix’ stock-control systems are provided for steel and forest-products cargoes.

Storage & Warehousing

South Side, South Dock

• Two sheds totalling 7,500 sq m of storage for steel handling, plus 15 ha of open storage

Bulk Cargo Terminal

• 1.5 ha with reserve storage of 20 ha

North Side, South Dock

• Animal-feed stores – one shed of 10,000 sq m

• General-cargo sheds – two sheds of 7,200 sq m and 8,200 sq m capacity, and a 20-ha concrete-paved handling and storage area

• Fertiliser store – one shed of 5,000 sq m capacity

• Common-user store – one shed of 2,880 sq m capacity.
